Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

The Total productive Maintenance (TPM) course presents tools used by leading companies such as Motorola, DuPont, IBM and AT&T to significantly improve maintenance operations and the bottom line. The course simplifies the TPM concept by presenting a practical step by step approach to maximize the utilization of your production equipment by reducing downtime while improving quality.

The course explains and provides examples how to identify factors which reduce your equipment effectiveness which are necessary to achieve the goals of zero unplanned downtime, zero product defects and zero loss of equipment speed. You will learn how to calculate OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) to measure and monitor the effectiveness of your equipment. Tools to make the calculations simple and straightforward are provided.

OEE calculations will be analyzed and compared with reports generated from computerized maintenance management System (CMMS) to get a complete picture of the maintenance operation.

Finally the course provides a decision process helping to determine the maintenance program, including operator driven autonomous maintenance that best fits the equipment. The decision process is based on data from OEE calculations, work history and equipment criticality.

Benefits of implementing a Total Productive Maintenance System:
  • Reduce unplanned downtime
  • Reduce maintenance spending
  • Lengthen equipment life
  • Increase production capacity
